1. CULTURELINK EXPERT MEETING ON CULTURAL COOPERATION IN SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE The meeting Cultural Policies and Cultural Development in Southeastern Europe: New Realities and Challenges will take place in Zagreb, Croatia on 10-11 September 2004. It will be devoted to conceptual and developmental issues related to the cultural policies and development in the region and to the definition of operational scenarios for the future cultural development and regional cooperation. >>> 2. CULTURELINK REVIEW No. 43/AUGUST 2004 The August issue of the Culturelink Review is devoted to a significant extent to the work of the European Cultural Foundation. As always, Culturelink carries a wealth of useful information on recent networking and research programmes, conferences and books, with a Dossier devoted to various reflections on contemporary arts and culture. >>> 3. 2004 CULTURAL POLICY RESEARCH AWARD The European Cultural Foundation has introduced the Cultural Policy Research Award, whose main aim is to stimulate academic research in the field of cultural policy. The winner for 2004 is Nina Obuljen, research fellow at the Institute for International Relations in Zagreb, Croatia, and member of the Culturelink Team. >>> | |||

4. EUROPA NOSTRA AWARDS The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2004 awards six monetary prizes of 10,000 Euro each, Medals and Diplomas to outstanding restoration projects in the fields of architectural heritage, cultural landscapes, collections of works of art, and archaeological sites; outstanding studies in the field of cultural heritage; and dedicated services to heritage conservation by individuals or groups. Application deadline is 15 September 2004. >>> 5. INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS RESIDENCIES AND SEMINAR The Hungarian Multicultural Center, Inc. (HMC) invites interested visual artists and writers to submit an application for a 10-day residency programme and seminar to be held in Budapest, Hungary, between 26 December 2004 - 6 January 2005. SICA OVERVIEW OF CULTURAL ACTIVITIES DURING THE DUCH EU PRESIDENCY The Dutch Service Centre for International Cultural Activities (SICA), is compiling and continually updating an extensive overview of cultural activities and projects taking place during the Dutch EU presidency, both in the Netherlands and abroad. >>> 7. PROFESSIONAL SPECIALIZATION CERTIFICATE IN CULTURAL HERITAGE SECTOR LEADERSHIP The Cultural Resource Management Program at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada, is organising an innovative Certificate Program for museum and cultural sector professionals seeking to enhance their management and leadership skills. A PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST IN 2015 Find out more about the place of education in the arts and its effects on the future artists at this conference organized by the European Council of Artists in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 8-10 October 2004. Registration deadline is 10 September 2004. >>> 9. E-CULTURE AND NEW PATTERNS OF COMMUNICATION IN THE XXI CENTURY The conference organised by the Russian Institute for Cultural Research will be held in Moscow, Russia, on 25-27 October 2004. Please note that the deadline for submission of applications is 15 September and for submission of papers 1 October 2004. >>> 10. MULTICULTURAL FUTURES Organised by the International Metropolis project, the Monash Institute for the Study of Global Movements, and the Australian Multicultural Foundation, the conference entitled Multicultural Futures, to take place in Prato, Italy, on 22-23 September 2004, will take a hard look at the future viability of multiculturalism as a means of bringing about the effective integration of immigrants and creating cohesive societies that have diverse populations. >>> 11. CULTURAL POLICY AND ART PRODUCTION The University of Arts in Belgrade is organizing this international conference in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, from 30 September to 2 October 2004. >>> 12. U.S. NATIONAL ARTS MARKETING CONFERENCE Organized by Arts & Business Council Inc. and Arts Reach, the 2004 National Arts Marketing Conference entitled High Touch/High Tech: Cutting Edge Strategies for Reaching and Keeping Today's Arts Customers will be held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 2-5 October 2004, aiming to present new ways all cultural disciplines can utilize both today's technology-based and interpersonal one-on-one marketing strategies to ’reach and keep’ arts customers. >>> 13. ARTISTS ON THE MOVE An expert meeting and international conference about the mobility of people in the cultural sector in Europe to be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on 7-8 October 2004. >>> 14. PAN-EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON LANGUAGES OF CREATIVITY The conference on creativity in learning and education will be held in Canterbury, Kent, UK, on 12-14 October 2004, hosting teachers, artists and specialists to discuss various aspects of creative learning and education. >>> 15. LES RENCONTRES DE LILLE The association Les Rencontres will hold its annual meeting under the title Europeans and Their Films.
