1. 70 CENTS FOR CULTURE Aiming to boost the resources which the EU makes available for culture, the 70 Cents for Culture campaign, is launched by ECF and EFAH at the European Parliament in Brussels on 15 March 2005. Support this important campaign by signing the campaign manifesto. >>> 2. CENTER FOR ARTS AND CULTURE AFFILIATED WITH GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY Recently the George Mason University and the Center for Arts and Culture announced their agreement to affiliate, bringing the strengths of Northern Virginia's premier university to the Center's groundbreaking work in the field of cultural policy. >>> | |||

5. 2ND OPEN ENCOUNTER OF CULTURES Organized by the Centro de las Culturas, Chile, the conference will be held on 3 April 2005 in Santiago, Chile, under the title Assembly of Cultures. >>> 6. 8TH CONFERENCE EUROPEAN CULTURE Organized by the Centre for European Studies and the Jean Monnet Chair of the University of Navarra, Spain, this scientific forum for dialogue and encounter of multidisciplinary character is to be held in Pamplona, Spain, from 19-22 October 2005. The first deadline for paper abstracts is 30 April 2005. >>> 7. A SOUL FOR EUROPE FOLLOW-UP CONFERENCE Representing a follow-up to the A Soul for Europe Berlin conference, the Paris conference on cultural policy is to take place on 2-3 May 2005. >>> 8. IV MERCATOR INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM The symposium entitled Translation of Culture, Culture of Translation: Languages in Film, Television and Literature will be held on 26-28 October 2005 in Aberysthwith, Wales, focusing on multifaceted aspects of language transfer through these media. PUBLIC ATTITUDES TOWARD IMMIGRATION AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY The Metropolis Institute, the Institute on Governance and the Learning and Development Division offer a course on Public Attitudes Toward Immigration and Cultural Diversity, to take place in Ottawa, Ontario, on 23 March 2005. >>> 10. MASTER OF ARTS IN DESIGN A Master of Arts in Design programme is offered at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design of the Utrecht School of the Arts. Application deadline is 30 March 2005. >>> 11. FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR ARTS MANAGERS The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts offers a ten-month comprehensive arts management fellowship program to artists and arts managers starting in September 2005 and ending in June 2006. CULTURE AND SOCIAL CHANGES IN GLOBALIZATION: LATIN AMERICAN PERSPECTIVES This online course managed by the Virtual Campus of Distance Learning of CLACSO (Latin American Council of Social Sciences) is from 9 May - 26 July 2005. CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS The Jan van Eyck Academie invites artists, designers and theoreticians to submit research or production proposals and apply for a one or two year research period, starting in January 2006.
