The Centre for Canadian Studies at Mount Allison University invites applications for a non-renewable two-year postdoctoral fellowship. Deadline for submission of applications is 12 March 2007. >>>

2.   CALARTS VISITING ARTIST FACULTY POSITION

Visiting artist position - a one-year fulltime teaching position from September 2007 through May 2008 in the Photography & Media Program at the School of Art at CalArts. MFA or equivalent required. Deadline for applications is 1 March 2007. >>>

3.   LOGO CITIES: SIGNAGE, BRANDING AND LETTERING IN PUBLIC SPACE

Aiming to draw together scholars, designers, artists, and artisans to foster an informed, critical dialogue about signage, branding, and lettering in public space, the Logo Cities symposium will take place at Concordia University, Montréal, Québec, on 4-5 May 2007. Deadline for formal proposals is 28 February 2007. >>>

4.   ANNUAL NIC CONFERENCE

The Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University is organising the 2007 Annual NIC Conference to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania on 29 November – 1 December 2007. Submission of papers is invited in the field of intercultural communication from participants in previous NIC Conferences and other researchers or practitioners from related fields. Abstracts deadline is 27 August 2007. >>>

5.   28th MASTERPLAYERS INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION

This international competition for conductors, soloists, singers, choirs, orchestras and chamber music groups is to be held in Venice, Italy, from 18-28 September 2007. Deadline for entries is 15 March 2007. >>>

6.   IFG ULM: DESIGNING POLITICS – THE POLITICS OF DESIGN

IFG Ulm is inviting entries for its 2007 programme on the topic of Designing Politics – The Politics of Design. A sum of EUR 50,000 is available to be awarded, and the award-winning projects will be supported by mentors at IFG Ulm. Application deadline is 31 March 2007. >>>

7.   CDRN INTERACTIVE AND SENSING TECHNOLOGIES WORKSHOP

The Mobile Nation Summit and the Canadian Design Research Network will co-host a two-day workshop as art of the Mobile Nation Summit conference programme from 22-25 March 2007 in Toronto, Canada. Deadline for submissions is 15 February 2007. >>>

8.   KONSTFACK'S NEW MASTER'S PROGRAMME FOR 2007/2008

Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design is inviting admission applications to its new Master's Programme for Academic Year 2007/2008. The deadline for applications is 1 March 2007. >>>

9.   PROGRAMME FOR YOUNG GERMAN SPEAKING CULTURAL MANAGERS FROM CEE

The Robert Bosch Foundation invites young cultural managers from Central and Eastern Europe to work and stay for one year in Germany. Deadline for application is 10 April 2007. >>>

10.   OLYMPIA SUMMER SEMINARS

Aiming to facilitate an interdisciplinary and comparative approach to the study of current politics and historical events, the sixth annual Olympia Summer Seminars will be held in Ancient Olympia, Greece from 1-15 July 2007. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 April 2007. >>>

11.   TRANSART INSTITUTE MFA PROGRAMME

Transart Institute offers an international low residency two year graduate art programme for working artists to develop a sustainable creative praxis, leading to a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in New Media. Deadline for early applications is 1 March and for final applications 1 June 2007. >>>

12.   IFA PROGRAMME OF EXTENDING ARTS PRACTICE

The India Foundation for the Arts has set up a programme to support artists and arts groups to undertake projects that help them extend their own practice or challenge prevalent practices within their fields. Applications under this programme may be submitted for consideration at any time. >>>

13.   NEW MUSEUMS: AN EFFICIENT TOOL FOR SOCIAL COHESION AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

Through this international seminar to take place in Val-de-Marne, France on 12-13 March 2007, the International Urban Development Association aims to specify the role of New Museums in social cohesion and local development. >>>

14.   EUROPEAN MUSIC COUNCIL ANNUAL MEETING AND CONFERENCE

The Catalan Music Council and EMC, along with Europa Cantat and its regional member Moviment Coral Català are announcing their Annual Meeting 2007 and the conference Changes: Chances and Challenges. 17.   KRAKOW INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL CENTRE

Though embarking on the next phase in the modernisation of the seat of the International Cultural Centre will entail a more modest exhibition programme in 2007, the renovation is another link in the process of developing a physical infrastructure for the dialogical space that the ICC has been building for the past several years. >>>

18.   REVOLUTION OR RENAISSANCE BY D. PAUL SCHAFER

The Social Sciences Academic Press in Beijing has just published the Chinese translation of the manuscript Revolution or Renaissance: Making the Transition from an Economic Age to a Culture Age by D. Paul Schafer. The Press is also translating his book Culture: Beacon of the Future, due to appear in spring. >>>

19.   ARTISTIC EXPLORATIONS IN CULTURAL MEMORY WORKSHOP REPORT
