1.   CULTURELINK 2005-2006 ACTIVITIES REPORT AND 2007-2008 PROGRAMME

Culturelink Network's Report on the Activities in 2005-2006 and Programme for 2007-2008 was adopted at the 15th session of the Scientific Council of the Institute for International Relations in Zagreb, Croatia, held on 28 March 2007. The report was accompanied by an analysis of the WWW Resource Centre's access statistics, showing that through its continued content development the currently over 950 static web pages register an average of more than 75.000 pageviews from around 25.000 visitors per month. >>>

2.   PROFESSOR OF GRAPHIC ARTS AT ROYAL DANISH ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS

At the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' Schools of Visual Arts a position as professor of the School of Graphic Arts is open for appointment from 1 October 2007, or at the earliest possible date thereafter. Application deadline: 30 April 2007 at noon. >>>

Simon Fraser University's School of Communication invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of media production and media analysis. Application deadline is 30 April 2007. >>>

4.   POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN CONSERVATION AT GÖTEBORG UNIVERSITY

The Department of Conservation of the Göteborg University, Sweden announces an opening for a post-doctoral position covering both conservation of buildings, and built heritage and objects conservation. Appointments will start from 1 July 2007 at the earliest, and will run for a period of two years. >>>

5.   HISTORY, HERITAGE, REGENERATION: TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE IN EASTERN EUROPE

The International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism (INTBAU) has launched a call for papers for one of its major 2007 conference entitled History, Heritage & Regeneration: The Future for Traditional Architecture in Eastern Europe. The event will take place on 23-25 September in Sibiu, Romania, which serves as the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2007. The deadline for abstracts is 15 May 2007. >>>

6.   SOCIAL THEORY, POLITICS AND THE ARTS

New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and the Research Center for Leadership in Action invite paper and panel proposals to the 33rd Conference on Social Theory, Politics and the Arts (STPA), to be held on 11-13 October 2007 in New York City. Deadline for abstracts is 25 May 2007. >>>

7.   RESEARCHING DESTINATION MANAGEMENT, POLICY AND PLANNING

The conference entitled Researching Destination Management, Policy and Planning: Linking Culture, Heritage and Tourism, jointly organised by the Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change and the Leeds Metropolitan University, will be held in Riga, Latvia on 24-25 September 2007. The Council of Europe is announcing its Call for Nominations for the North-South Prize, recognizing outstanding achievements in the field of human rights protection, the defence of pluralist democracy and North-South solidarity and partnership. The OSI-HESP Regional Seminar for Excellence in Teaching entitled Alternative Culture Beyond Borders: Past and Present of the Arts and Media in the Context of Globalization is part of a three-year international research and teaching project which explores the continued relevance and significance of the concept of alternative culture in the era of globalization.
