1.   FESTIVAL POLICIES OF PUBLIC AUTHORITIES IN EUROPE

A roundtable on the Festival Policies of Public Authorities in Europe will be held in Barcelona, Spain on 19-20 October 2007, organised by the Cultural Information and Research Centres Liaison in Europe (CIRCLE), the European Festival Research Project (EFRP) consortium and the Interarts Foundation. Deadline for papers is 25 August 2007. >>>

2.   THE RISE AND FALL OF URBAN CULTURAL INDUSTRIES: PLACE-BOUND DYNAMICS OF URBAN CULTURAL INDUSTRIES

Within the scope of the 9th International Conference on Urban History to be held in Lyon, France on 27-30 August 2008, a session entitled The Rise and Fall of Urban Cultural Industries: Place-bound Dynamics of Urban Cultural Industries will take place. A call for papers is open until November 2007. >>>

3.   POINTE TO POINT, FIFTH ASIA-EUROPE DANCE FORUM

The Asia Europe Foundation and the China Dance Association are coorganizing the Fifth Asia-Europe Dance Forum for choreographer-dancers and composer-improvisers, to be held in Beijing and Guizhou, China, on 13-24 November 2007. Application deadline is 10 August 2007. >>>

4.   INDEPENDENT CREATIVE ART SPACES LEADERSHIP TRAINING

The Independent Creative Art Spaces Leadership Training workshop, part of the Artists’ Networks and Autonomous Cultural Centers, is an initiative set up by ASEF in 2003, aiming to contribute to the promotion of artists’ mobility, exchange of cultural professionals and exposure for cultural practitioners. Deadline for applications is 1 September 2007. >>>

The Romanian Cultural Institute has launched the second edition of its CANTEMIR Grants Programme, established in 2006 to provide non-reimbursable funding for cultural projects carried on internationally and having an impact upon high-profile markets abroad. >>>

The Creative City Network of Canada will hold its 6th Annual Conference entitled The Ecology of a Creative Community in Edmonton, Alberta (a 2007 Cultural Capital) on 10-13 October 2007. >>>

7.   CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND RELIGIOUS PLURALISM - THE POSSIBLE DIALOGUE IN EUROPE

The Annual Conference of the Religious Innovation and Pluralism in 21 Century Europe (R.I.P.E.) Group will take place in Rome, Italy on 19–20 October 2007 under the title Cultural Diversity and Religious Pluralism - The Possible Dialogue in Europe. >>>

Organized by the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) in cooperation with Polyfollia, the 1st International Forum - Voice, Youth and Arts Management will take place in Caen, France, in the 1st quarter of 2008. >>>

The Fifth International Conference on Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR) will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on 20-24 August 2008, aiming to provide an outlet for an interdisciplinary and international exploration of the meaning, function and impact of cultural policies. 10.   POSTGRADUATE COURSES AT THE HIGHER INSTITUTE OF FINE ARTS (HISK)

The Higher Institute of Fine Arts (HISK) organises postgraduate education in Flanders in the field of the visual arts. It provides some thirty young artists from Belgium and abroad with a studio of their own, for a duration of two years. Deadline for application is 07 September 2007. >>>
