2.   FULL-TIME ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PUBLIC POLICY AT THE CENTRAL EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY

The Department of Public Policy at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, is opening one full-time position at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of public policy and public management, with a special focus on cultural policy. Deadline for applications is 31 March 2009. >>>

3.   JAN VAN EYCK ACADEMIE RESEARCH POSITION

Artists, designers and theoreticians are invited to submit proposals for new individual or collective research and/or production projects for a one-year or two-year research period in the departments of Fine Art, Design and Theory. The application deadline is 15 April 2009. >>>

4.   JOURNAL SLOVO ACCEPTS SUBMISSIONS FOR AUTUMN EDITION

Slovo, the Inter-Disciplinary Journal of Russian, Eurasian, Central and East European Affairs, published by postgraduates of the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies, accepts submissions for the Autumn 2009 issue from the following fields: anthropology, economics, film, geography, history, international studies, linguistics, literature, media, music, politics and sociology. Deadline for submissions is 14 March 2009. >>>

5.   CULTURE MEETS ECONOMY: CULTURE AND CRISIS – OPPORTUNITY OR THREAT?

For the second time, the European Academy Bozen/Bolzano and the University of Innsbruck are organizing a Scientific Track within the framework of the conference Culture Meets Economy, to take place from 30 June to 1 July 2009 in Bolzano, Italy. 6.   ANNA LINDH EURO-MEDITERRANEAN FOUNDATION'S CALL FOR PROPOSALS

One way in which the Anna Lindh Foundation fulfils its mission is by providing grants to civil society organisations, through an annual Call for Proposals to select the best initiatives for intercultural dialogue. The Call is focused on thematic issues in line with each year's priorities. Deadline for proposals is 30 April 2009 for short-term projects and 30 May 2009 for long-term projects. >>>

7.   EUROPEAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP VIDEO AWARD (EEVA)

The European Entrepreneurship Video Award 2009 builds a unique bridge between two worlds, cinema and business. The challenge is to make creative and original short videos (between one and three minutes) in the categories The Entrepreneurial Spirit, Innovative Entrepreneurship and Responsible Entrepreneurship. Deadline for entries is 31 March 2009. >>>

8.   CULTURAL POLICY RESEARCH AWARD 2009

The European Cultural Foundation, the Riksbankens Jublileumsfond and the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres ENCATC have opened the application process for the 6th Cultural Policy Research Award 2009. Deadline for applications is 23 May 2009. >>>

9.   CALL FOR PROJECTS FOR THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE "CULTURAL EVENT" LABEL 2009

The Council of Europe is launching a call for cultural and artistic projects which through their work convey strong messages related to the Council of Europe's mission and values and address key challenges of the European societies of today. Deadline for submission is 30 June 2009. >>>

10.   5th JEAN MONNET SUMMER SCHOOL "INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AND THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION"

After the success of their previous Summer Schools, the Faculty of Economics and Jean Monnet Chair of the University of Rijeka are organizing the Fifth International Summer School entitled International Environment and European Integration, which will be held in Rijeka, Croatia, from 6 to 18 July 2009. >>>

11.   "COURANTS" TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR CULTURAL MANAGERS

The Maison des Cultures du Monde launched the application procedure for its "Courants" programme, organized yearly. Deadline for the Autumn sessions is 30 March 2009. >>>

12.   THE CORE PROGRAM VISUAL ARTISTS AND CRITICAL STUDIES RESIDENCIES

The Core Program of the Glassell School of Art of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas, USA, awards visual artists and critical studies residencies to highly motivated, emerging visual artists and critical writers who have completed their academic training but have not yet fully developed a professional career. Deadline for applications is 1 April 2009. >>>

13.   STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL MASTER PROGRAMME IN CURATING ART

">Curating Art is a full time Master programme offered by the Department of Art History in collaboration with the School of Business and the Department of Law at Stockholm University. Deadline for applications is 15 April 2009. >>>

14.   MASTER OF MEDIA.ART.HISTORIES AT DANUBE UNIVERSITY KREMS

The MediaArtHistories postgraduate programme at the Department for Image Science of the Danube University Krems offers a two-year low residency course of study leading to an M.A. degree. It conveys the most important developments of contemporary art through a network of renowned international theorists, artists, curators and many others. Deadline for application is 1 May 2009. >>>

15.   MANAGEMENT OF UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE CULTURAL SITES IN VISEGRAD COUNTRIES

This training programme for young heritage professionals organised by the International Cultural Centre in Kraków, Poland, to be held on 9-19 July 2009, welcomes representatives of public administration and NGOs engaged in monument protection in V4 countries, as well as heritage professionals from other countries in Eastern and Central Europe. Deadline for application is 15 May 2009. >>>

16.   20 YEARS AFTER THE FALL OF COMMUNISM - CULTURAL POLICY IN CENTRAL EUROPE

The programme, organised by the International Cultural Centre in Kraków, Poland in cooperation with the Institut für den Donauraum und Mitteleuropa in Vienna, to be held on 8-19 July 2009, welcomes advanced students, young scholars and cultural administrators, NGOs and other candidates active in the field of cultural management from Eastern and Western European countries. The European Music Council (EMC) announces its Annual Conference and ExTra! Final Event that is to take place from 23-26 April 2009 in Athens, Greece, aiming to examine the potential role of music as a binding force in European multicultural societies. >>>

21.   THE BERGEN BIENNIAL CONFERENCE

The aims of the Bergen Biennial Conference, to take place in Bergen, Norway, on 17-20 September 2009, are to identify and explore existing 'biennial knowledge' from different regions of the world and to incite new critical thinking and writing on recurrent large-scale art exhibitions — their history, socio-political and economical contexts, as well as their impact on artistic and curatorial practices. >>>

25.   FêTE DE LA MUSIQUE

This year the international Fête de la Musique, the world's largest musical celebration, launched in 1982 by the French Ministry for culture, will take place on the same day, 21 June, in over 300 cities around the world. >>>
