2. International Conference of Aesthetics Under the title Peaks and Edges of Contemporary Arts, the first International Conference of Aesthetics, to be held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on 22 - 24 October 2009, invites proposals by composers, musicologists, performers, video artists, organizers of concerts and other artistic events, who want to present propositions linked to aesthetic, philosophic and practice aspects of digital arts. Submission deadline is 15 July 2009. >>> 3. Sixth Latin American Memory and Identity Forum Organized by the Signo Centro Interdisciplinario, the Sixth Latin American Memory and Identity Forum will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 5-8 November 2009. Deadline for the submission of proposals is 19 July 2009. >>> 4. Researching Coastal and Resort Destination Management: Cultures and Histories of Tourism Aiming of bringing together researchers who share interests in coastal and resort destination policy, planning and management in relation to culture(s) and histories of tourism, the 2009 EUTO conference will be held in Girona, Spain on 19-20 October 2009. The deadline for the reception of abstracts is 31 July 2009. >>> 5. Social Capital in Practice The Social Capital Foundation invites papers for the TSCF 2010 International Conference entitled Social Capital in Practice, to be held in Mellieha, Malta, on 7-10 May 2010. Submission deadline is 15 February 2010. >>> 6. Performing Arts Training Today Participation is invited to the international conference on Performing Arts Training Today, to be held in Leibnitz, Austria, on 28 April - 1 May 2010, open to performers from all over the world interested in the research of topical questions and processes in contemporary performing arts education and training, offering an opportunity for performers, performing arts educators and teachers to demonstrate their methods and techniques. >>> |

7. Canon Foundation Research Fellowships The Canon Foundation in Europe grants up to 15 Research Fellowships annually to highly qualified European and Japanese researchers in all fields. The European Fellowship holders pursue a period of between three months and a year of research in Japan whereas the Japanese Fellows do their research at host institutions in Europe. The deadline for the year 2010 is 15 September 2009.>>> 8. James Marston Fitch Charitable Foundation Research Grants The James Marston Fitch Charitable Foundation awards two research grants for the research and/or execution of preservation-related projects in historic preservation, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, architectural history and the decorative arts. Applications deadline is 16 September 2009. >>> 9. 2010 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards rewards outstanding achievements in the field of heritage conservation and enhancement in the categories of conservation; research; dedicated service by individuals or organisations; and education, training and awareness-raising. Public Cultural Policy Management in American and European Countries The Foundation Ortega y Gasset Argentina invites participation in its course on Public Cultural Policy Management in American and European Countries, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, between 24 and 28 August 2009. The deadline for application is 14 August 2009. >>> 11. A.I.R./International Artist Residency Expanding its programme, the Hungarian Multicultural Center (HMC) invites interested visual artists, writers and musicians to submit application for its AIR-HMC International Artists Residencies programme to be held in Budapest, Hungary, on 28 December 2009 to 11 January 2010. The deadline for applications is 6 September 2009. >>> 12. Independent Studies Programme at the MACBA The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) calls for participation in its Independent Studies Programme (PEI), to take place between 14 January 2010 and December 2011, aiming to explore the field of artistic practices that link art to the human sciences and to critical-social intervention, and seeking to enhance students' capacity to participate in professional activities and their ability to articulate a critical position in regards to art and culture. The deadline for applications is 2 October 2009. >>> 13. PhDArts, PhD Programme in Visual Art and Design PhDArts, a collaboration between the Leiden University Academy of Creative and Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, offers an international, high-level doctorate in visual arts and design. Application deadline is 31 October 2009 or 30 April 2010. >>> 14. The Banff Centre Visual Arts and New Media Residencies The Banff Centre calls for applications to a number of its visual arts and new media thematic residencies with upcoming deadlines: Seven Weeks with the Taskmaster, 6 January 23 February 2010, deadline: 14 September 2009; Polymath Breakthrough with Joseph del Pesco, 16 November 11 December 2009, deadline: 15 July 2009; Liminal Screen, 25 February 27 March 2010, deadline: 31 August 2009. >>> 15.
