1.   NETWORKS - THE EVOLVING ASPECTS OF CULTURE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Dear colleagues, dear friends,
with the participation of 130 members, researchers, experts and artists in the field of culture from all continents, the Third World Culturelink Conference entitled Networks - The Evolving Aspects of Culture in the 21st Century, was held in Zagreb, Croatia, from 13 to 15 November 2009, marking the 20th anniversary of Culturelink's continuous networking and research activities by investigating the role and relevance that cultural networks hold for cultural development in today's digital environment. The conference report will be available in the coming week, and the publication of the conference proceedings is planned for 2010.
We sincerely thank all participants for their fruitful contributions to and discussions of one of the most intriguing phenomena of contemporary culture. >>>

4.   CLAIMING CREATIVITY: ART EDUCATION IN CULTURAL TRANSITION

This joint International Symposium presented by Columbia College Chicago in partnership with the European League of Institutes of the Arts, to be held in Chicago, USA on 21-24 April 2010, seeks to re-position creativity as a driver not only for our economies, but also for art making, for transformational processes, and for social and cultural development and change. Deadline for submissions is 1 December 2009. >>>

5.   6TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULTURAL POLICY RESEARCH

Reminder: The 6th International Conference on Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR) will be held in Jyväskylä, Finland, on 24 - 27 August 2010. Researchers are invited to submit proposals for paper presentations, on any relevant discipline contributing to the study of cultural policy and its effects. The deadline for proposals is 14 December 2009. >>>

6.   IDEA 2010 DEADLINE EXTENDED

In response to numerous requests, the deadline for submissions of case study experiences, papers, workshops, artistic and dialogic key hole, videos and poster/installations to the VII World Congress of IDEA 2010 - Live, Living Diversity! Embracing the Arts of Transformation! has been extended until 30 November 2009. >>>

7.   16TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULTURAL ECONOMICS BY THE ACEI

The Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI) invites participation in its 16th International Conference on Cultural Economics to be held at Copenhagen, Denmark, from 10-12 June 2010. The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 January 2010. >>>

8.   REPRESENTATIONS OF EUROPEAN IDENTITY

Paper and/or panel proposals are invited for a 3-day multi-disciplinary international conference on representations of European identity entitled Europe in its Own Eyes / Europe in the Eyes of the Other, to be held in Ontario, Canada, on 1-3 October 2010. 9.   ELIA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE

ELIA invites proposals for papers and presentations to its 11th Biennial Conference, set to be held in Nantes, France on 27 – 30 October 2010, from professional practitioners from all arts disciplines, arts administrators, international officers, senior managers and representatives of higher arts education and the cultural sector. 10.   CIVIL SOCIETY DIALOGUE IN ISTANBUL 2010

The European Commission has launched a grant scheme programme entitled Civil Society Dialogue – Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture, aiming to distribute grants to non-governmental organizations active in the area of culture and arts, carrying out projects with partners from the European Union, aiming to demonstrate Istanbul’s cultural legacy and capacity. The deadline for submitting proposals is 2 December 2009. >>>

11.   MARC DE MONTALEMBERT PRIZE 2010

The Marc de Montalembert Foundation and the National Institute of Art History award each year the Marc de Montalembert Prize of 8000 Euro to support the realization of a six- to nine-month project contributing to the knowledge of art history and heritageof the Mediterranean region. Application deadline is 30 November 2009. >>>

12.   GRADUATE PROGRAM IN CURATORIAL PRACTICE

The two-year Graduate Program in Curatorial Practice at California College of the Arts offers an expanded perspective on curating contemporary art and culture, providing practical training in curating and organizing exhibitions as well as rigorous study in the history of the discipline, modern and contemporary art history, theory, and criticism. Applications deadline for the fall 2010 incoming class is 5 January 2010. >>>

13.   MFA PROGRAMS IN STUDIO AND DESIGN

The MFA Program of the School of Art + Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a three-year course of study committed to training artists and designers at the highest professional levels, offering an MFA degree with specializations in Painting, Sculpture, Photography, New Media, Ceramics, Metal, Graphic Design, and Industrial Design. 14.   SAM FOX SCHOOL OF DESIGN & VISUAL ARTS

Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis offers graduate programmes in art as well as architecture and urban design, with application deadlines on 5 JAnuary and 1 February 2010 respectively. >>>

The School of Visual Arts in New York City invites applications for the Fall 2010 incoming class of MFA in Art Criticism & Writing by 15 January 2010. >>>

24.   ALL AFRICA DANCE CONFERENCE AND FESTIVAL

The All Africa Dance Conference and Festival, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, on 9-13 December 2009, will impart skills in dance for peace and development and celebrate the use of dance as a tool for social change and development in Africa and the world over. >>>

25.   JOURNEYS OF EXPRESSION VIII
