1. Culturelink Studies and Reports A number of studies and reports by Culturelink have recently been made available at Culturelink's website: a. The Third World Culturelink Conference Reader featuring the Conference programme, speakers' biographies and selected literature can be found at b. The report Article 19 (of the 2005 UNESCO Convention) - Exchange, Analysis and Dissemination of Information, commissioned by the UNESCO Secretariat, provides an overview of Culturelink's 20 years of experience in the context of Article 19. The report is available at the UNESCO website and Culturelink's website. c. The background paper Communication of Heritage: A New Vision of South East Europe, prepared by the Culturelink Research Team for the 2006 Regional Summit Forum (pp.78-94) is available at d. In response to common requests, Culturelink has also made available in electronic format the document Croatia in the 21st Century - Cultural Development Strategy, published by the Croatian Ministry of Culture in 2003 and written by Croatian Culturelink members. Third Arte-Polis International Conference The Third Arte-Polis International Conference on Creative Collaboration and the Making of Place - Learning from Shared Creative Experiences, to be held in Bandung, Indonesia, on 22-24 July 2010, invites participation. 3. International Fellowship Programme for Art and Theory The Künstlerhaus Buchsenhausen is calling visual and media artists, art critics, theorists, and curators for applications to its International Fellowship Programme for Art and Theory 2010-2011. The closing date for submissions is 29 January 2010 (postmark). >>> 4. Maine College of Art Academic Programmes The Maine College of Art in Portland, USA, now accepts applications for its academic programmes Bachelor of Fine Arts, Post-Baccalaureate in Art Education and Pre-College. Application deadlines are 1 February, 1 March and 19 April 2010 respectively.>>> 5. Finnish Academy of Fine Arts Doctorate The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts admits new students to postgraduate studies starting in September 2010 and leading to a Doctorate in Fine Arts. Application period is 1 December 2009 to 1 March 2010. >>> 6. University of Fine Arts Hamburg Bachelor and Master Study Programmes The University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK), Germany calls for applications for its degree programmes of Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts, as well as its teacher education programmes of Bachelor of Arts/Science, Master of Education, Dr. phil. in art. Application deadline for the 2010/2011 winter semester is 5 March 2010. >>> 7. The Banff Centre Thematic Residencies The Banff Centre is currently accepting applications to a number of its 2010 and 2011 visual arts Thematic Residencies.>>> 8. ROBERT BOSCH STIFTUNG COURSE IN INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL MANAGEMENT The Robert Bosch Stiftung invites selected German speaking fellows from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe to Germany for a thirteen-month course qualifying them in international cultural management. The deadline for applications is 14 March 2010. >>> 9. Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts: New Projects Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) debuts an innovative MFA Program entitled the Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts: New Projects. The programme's application deadline is 15 April 2010, with classes commencing in fall 2010. >>> 10. PhDArts PhDArts, a collaboration between the Leiden University Academy of Creative and Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, offers an international, high-level doctoral programme in visual arts and design, aiming to stimulate and facilitate artist-researchers and to provide a suitable research environment. Application deadlines are 30 April 2010 or 31 October 2010. >>> 11. maHKU Master of Arts in Fine Art The Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design (maHKU) calls for applications to its Master of Arts in Fine Art and the Master of Arts in Design, pathways: Editorial Design, Fashion Communication Design, Interior Design, Public Space Design. Application deadline is 30 April 2010. >>> 12. MA Cultural Tourism The Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK, has developed an important and innovative Master's qualification in Cultural Tourism, with the aim of allowing participants to take an informed position in contemporary theoretical debates and applied policy programmes focusing on tourism and its relationships with different concepts and expressions of culture. >>> 13. La Macina di San Cresci Residency Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 artists in residency programme at La Macina di San Cresci, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy. Personal project proposals may be realized in 7- to 90-day stays, to take place between 1 January and 31 December 2010. >>> |

The Economic Slowdown and the Future of Local Cultural Policies As traditionally the Board Meeting and Annual General Meeting of the Association Les Rencontres take place in the European Capital of Culture, so as to underline the importance of this emblematic EU programme, the city of Pécs, Hungary, will welcome the meeting entitled The Economic Slowdown and the Future of Local Cultural Policies on 3-6 March 2010. >>> 15. Arts - Access - Excellence Registration is open for Accessible Arts' Arts-Activated Conference, which will take place in Sydney, Australia, on 25-26 March 2010. A range of national and international speakers from the arts and disability sectors will come together to explore the themes of Arts – Access – Excellence through a series of workshops, panels and performances. >>> 16. Social Capital in Practice The TSCF 2010 international conference on Social Capital in Practice, to be held in Mellieha, Malta, on 7-10 May 2010, now offers 100 conference places at 100 Euros for students, adopts aggressive price policy for accommodation, and announces special discount for conference attendants by Air Malta, the official conference carrier. >>> 17. The International University Festival for Cultural Heritage Ibn Zohr University's Research Team: Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, Development, organizes the International University Festival for Cultural Heritage, to be held in Agadir, Morocco, on 17-21 March 2010. >>> |
