1.   European Diploma in Cultural Project Management

On Friday, 14 May 2010 Culturelink and its headquarters, the Institute for International Relations, hosted 26 participants of the European Diploma in Cultural Project Management from European countries and Canada, and its director, Jean-Pierre Deru. The participants took part in a round table on Croatian cultural policy held in the IMO library. Speakers were Sanjin Dragojevic, from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, Dragana Lucija Ratkovic, Director of Muses, and Emina Visnjic, Director of the Zagreb Centre for Independent Culture and Youth, as well as Biserka Cvjeticanin, Aleksandra Uzelac and Jaka Primorac, researchers from IMO/Culturelink. >>>

Call for Papers and Presentations

2.   Nations, Regions, Organizations - Cultural Diversity as a Source of Integration and Alienation

The Institute of Sociology, University of Szczecin, calls for papers and participation in this international conference to be held in Szczecin, Poland, on 22-23 November 2010, aiming to discuss the role of nations, regions and organizations in creating cultural identity. Abstracts are to be submitted by 15 June 2010. >>>

3.   Taking Part. Arts, Culture and Civil Society

Goldsmiths University of London and Southbank Centre will host on 29-30 October 2010 an international and multidisciplinary conference entitled Taking Part. Arts, Culture and Civil Society, an event seeking to engage with questions regarding the role of arts and cultural activity in civil society. The deadline for submissions is 25 June 2010. >>>

4.   IMPACT 7: Intersections and Counterpoints

IMPACT 7: Intersections and Counterpoints, focusing on the multiple identity of the print, calls for papers and proposals exploring the cross-disciplinary nature of printmedia internationally and in the context of the Asia-Pacific region. The conference organized by the Faculty of Art and Design, Monash University, will be held in Melbourne, Australia on 27-30 September 2010. Submission deadline for conference papers and themed panels is 30 July 2010. >>>

5.   Cultural Studies -- Critical Methodologies

For its issue on Encounters: Researchers as Tourists and Travellers, by guest editors Keyan G Tomaselli and Andrew Causey, Cultural Studies - Critical Methodologies invites papers which explore how academics encounter their research sites, subjects and even their own holiday destinations. The deadline for the submission of papers is 31 July 2010. >>>

Medrar for Contemporary Art is sending out an open Call for Submissions to the Forth Cairo Video Festival. Deadline for submissions ia 15 June 2010, notification of the selection of a video will be issued by 22 June 2010. >>>

8.   Heritage and Culture: Challenges and Innovation in Policy and Practice

Public Administration International (PAI) invites participation in its study programme, to be held in London, England, on 28 June - 2 July 2010, aimed at introducing policy makers and senior experts to the basic principles behind heritage and cultural policy through briefings, discussion sessions, workshops and visits to relevant policy makers, heritage managers and cultural tourism providers. >>>

13.   Rethinking Cultural Policy: Implementing a New Paradigm

The Council of Europe, in partnership with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), Culture Action Europe, the Budapest Observatory and International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA), is organising an international conference in the framework of the Council of Europe's CultureWatchEurope initiative, to take place in Brussels, Belgium, from 6-7 September 2010. >>>

14.   Museums Meet Adult Educators

This international conference is the closing event of the Grundtvig project MumAE – Museums Meet Adult Educators (2009-2010), which aims at supporting the encounter and the transfer of knowledge between museum and adult educators at the European level, addressing professionals working in umbrella organisations both in the museum and in the lifelong learning field, museum educators and adult educators. >>>

15.   ENCATC 18TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY

18.   Young Researchers Forum

LabforCulture.org launched the Young Researchers Forum, an online space to share, collaborate, network and reflect, aiming to strengthen the community of young researchers so their work is peer to peer supported and more accessible in the wider research community. >>>

19.   Impacts 08

Having published a number of reports evaluating the effects of Liverpool hosting the 2008 European Capital of Culture (ECoC), the Impacts 08 research team continues to develop the project aiming to adapt the its research framework into an international model capable of assessing the impact of major cultural initiatives. >>>

20.   Puerto Rican Visual Artists Coalition

With over 300 members, 4,000 works of art and about 100 videos registered, the Coalición de Artistas de Puerto Rico / Puerto Rican Visual Artists Coalition is the only art cultural network in Puerto Rico. Thus serving as the main centre of registration, reference, education and cyber documentation on Puerto Rican art. >>>

21.   Critical Arts - A Journal of South-North Cultural and Media Studies

Critical Arts, the Journal of South-North Cultural and Media Studies, recently published its Special Issue: Cultural Economy, edited by Sonja Narunsky-Laden. The theme issue discusses cultural economy in post-transitional South Africa, cultural economy in the information age, post-apartheid television drama, Afropolitan aesthetics in contemporary South African fashion design, and academic managerialism. >>>
