1.   Impact of European Union's Cultural Activities on Establishing a European Identity

The conference entitled The Impact of European Union's Cultural Activities on Establishing a European Identity, held in Samsun, Turkey, on 12-13 July 2010, was initiated by the European Economic and Social Studies Association (AESDER) from Samsun and co-organized by the Culturelink Network, whose team was represented by Professor Vjeran Katunaric and Jeronim Dorotic. >>>

2.   Exploring Mobility Around the Mediterranean

The Roberto Cimetta Fund (RCF) and the Arab Education Forum – Safar Fund invite participation in their Symposium, to be held in Alexandria, Egypt on 4-6 February 2011, as part of their joint Istikshaf project exploring mobility around the Mediterranean, backed by the Anna Lindh Foundation. >>>

3.   4th Global Conference: Interculturalism, Meaning and Identity

This multi-disciplinary project, to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 8-10 March 2011, seeking to explore the new and prominent place that the idea of culture has for the construction of meaning and identity through innovative trans-disciplinary dialogues, invites papers from all disciplines, professions and vocations which explore the forging of identities in rapidly changing national, social and cultural contexts. The deadline for submissions is 1 October 2010. >>>

4.   European Suburbs Exchange Platform

Within the framework of its 20th anniversary, culture and social work professionals, artists, public policy officials, local councillors, town planners, architects and researchers at national and European level are invited to participate in the European Suburbs Exchange Platform, to be held in Lyon, France, on 26-27 November 2010. >>>

5.   Centre for Cultural Policy Studies Doctoral Scholarship

The Centre for Cultural Policy Studies at the University of Warwick, UK will offer one three-year doctoral scholarship, commencing in October 2011. The scholarship will be open to both home/EU and overseas candidates, giving priority to candidates with proposals for research in the general area of 'implicit' cultural policies. >>>

6.   Active Ageing of Migrant Elders across Europe Project

The Ministry for Intergenerational Affairs, Family, Women and Integration of the State of North-Rhine Westphalia and the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), in partnership with the Committee of the Regions, call for submission to the first European Local Authorities Competition on Good Practices on the Support for Migrant Elders' Initiatives. Deadline for application is 31 October 2010. >>>

7.   Transmedia Postgraduate Programme

The Transmedia postgraduate programme in arts, media and design 2010/2011 of the Hogeschool Sint-Lukas, Brussels, Belgium, is a two-year, full-time course that leads to a master's degree in Transmedia. Application deadline is 1 October 2010. >>>

8.   Jan van Eyck Academie Calls for Applications

The Jan van Eyck Academie has positions available in the Fine Art and Design Departments for the next academic year, starting on 1 January 2011. Artists are invited to submit proposals for individual research projects, while designers can apply for one of the projects formulated by the department. Application deadline is 1 October 2010.>>>

10.   Cultural Policy: Quo Vadis?

The 36th Annual Conference on Social Theory, Politics & the Arts (STP&A) will be held in Arlington, VA, USA, on 14-16 October 2010. Under the title of Cultural Policy: Quo Vadis?, this international and interdisciplinary gathering of researchers, policymakers and practitioners will highlight current and conceptual issues in the development of cultural policy, theory and arts administration practices. >>>

11.   Interacció 2010 – Cultural Democracy and Social Transformation

Interacció 2010, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on 19-22 October 2010, proposes to affirm its nature as a reference point in the world of cultural policies and management with an issue that is sparking lively debate in cultural circles: active citizen participation in the creation and dissemination of culture.>>>

12.   INTA34 World Urban Development Congress

The 34th INTA Annual Congress entitled Reinvent Your Urban Region: Smart Urban Infrastructure and Services for Cohesive Development will take place in Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain from 24-28 October 2010, focusing on drivers for change such as intelligent infrastructure, new pattern of economic spaces, and innovation in the provision of urban services and leadership. >>>

13.   11th ELIA Biennial Conference

Reminder: Marking its 20th anniversary, ELIA will hold its 11th Biennial Conference in Nantes, France, on 27-30 October 2010 under the theme of (h)eART(h) – l'art au cœur du territoire, aiming to address the most burning, important, current and inspiring issues that concern higher arts education in Europe. >>>

14.   The Berlin Conference - A Soul for Europe

Scheduled for 20 November 2010, the Berlin Conference - A Soul for Europe is a civil society platform bringing together 500 individuals from the cultural sector, politicians and representatives of the media, the business world and other areas of society, aiming to define and initiate concrete common steps in order to strengthen the cultural component of the European development. >>>

The 11th Annual Congress of Young SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research) on Intercultural Communication and Relations) will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on 25-28 November 2010 under the title of Interculturalism Reloaded: Exploring a Changing Landscape. >>>

16.   Culture as a Factor of Economic and Social Innovation in the Mediterranean Space

The forum entitled Culture as a Factor of Economic and Social Innovation in the Mediterranean Space: Towards New Solidarities in a Changing Europe will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 1-4 December 2010, within the framework of the Sostenuto project of micro-territorial experiments about the links between culture, economy, social issues and democracy in the Mediterranean space. >>>

17.   Performing Arts Training Today

The international conference Performing Arts Training Today, to be held by the International University Global Theatre Experience (IUGTE) in Leibnitz, Austria on 1–4 December 2010, is a professional event aiming to demonstrate various methods and techniques in contemporary performing arts education and training. >>>

18.   Conference on Creative Tourism

The Creative Tourism Network is organizing a Conference on Creative Tourism, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on 9-10 December 2010, with the aim of bringing together researchers, urban planners, policy designers, artists, cultural activists and tourist professionals to assess the benefits of international collaboration in the rapidly developing field of creative tourism. >>>

19.   Future Imperatives of Communication and Information for Development and Social Change

This international conference, coordinated by ORBICOM-UNESCO Chairs in Communication and to be hosted by the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Thammasat University, Bangkok, will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 20-22 December 2010. >>>

20.   5th World Summit on Arts and Culture

The International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) and the Australia Council for the Arts will hold the 5th World Summit on Arts and Culture under the theme of Creative Intersections in Melbourne, Australia on 3-6 October 2011, investigating how the arts can give voice to different communities and concerns through collaborations with other sectors. >>>

22.   EUCLID International Launches New Newsletter

23.   Mus'Art Gallery Launches First Cameroonian Museum Interactive Networking Site

Mus'Art Gallery: Grass-fields Arts Museum has put into operation the first Cameroonian museum interactive networking site, located at http://musart.spruz.com.
