Media Policies: Country Practices within the EU Media Regulatory Framework Culturelink would like to draw your attention to the round table organized by the Culturelink Network focal point, the Institute for International Relations (IMO), in cooperation with the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) on Media Policies: Country Practices within the EU Media Regulatory Framework. The round table took place in Zagreb on 10 December 2010, and gathered over forty participants: experts involved in the MEDIADEM project and researchers and stakeholders of media policy in Croatia. Speakers discussed the national media regulatory practices and the influence the European Union exerts on the media policies. >>> |

1. International University Festival for Cultural Heritage and Folk Arts The University Ibn Zohr, in Agadir, Morocco, will organize the 2nd edition of the International University Festival for Cultural Heritage and Folk Arts, from 20-23 April 2011,which will bring together students' groups from several universities worldwide. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 20 February 2011. >>> 2. Creative City Summit Designed to be more intimate and interactive to provide practitioners with a platform to exchange ideas and learn from their peers, the 2011 Creative City Summit will take place in London, Ontario, Canada on 10-12 May 2011. The Planning Committee is currently accepting submissions for presentations. >>> 3. Performing Arts Between Tradition and Contemporaneity This professional conference, to be held in Leitring bei Leibnitz, Austria, 25 - 29 August 2011, is accepting presentation proposals for practical workshops / master classes, works in progress, performance fragments not requiring special technical conditions, readings/lectures, and other ways of demonstration offered by speaker/presenter.>>> |

4. Call to Direct a Mediterranean Research Meeting Workshop The Mediterranean Programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute, Italy, has issued a call to scholars to direct a workshop at the thirteenth session of the Mediterranean Research Meeting, that will take place in Florence, Italy, on 21-24 March 2012. The deadline for proposals is 1 March 2011. >>> 5. Call for Proposals for Digital Productions 2011 An international platform for the exchange, exploration and co-production for the digital arts, bringing together facilities for production, broadcasting, training and research, the RAN (Digital Arts Network / Réseau des Arts Numériques) is launching a first call for proposals for digital productions aimed at artists, scientists, technicians, businesses, scenographers, visual artists, musicians and multimedia creators. Submission deadline is 1 March 2011. >>> 6. Online Arts Festival for Young Artists Online Arts Festival 3.0 accepts artistic entries from young artists (up to 30 years old) from Europe, the Mediterranean and the entire Arab world produced after 1 January 2009, in all fields of arts that can be published on the web. 7. Visual Arts at the Banff Centre The Banff Centre, Canada, is now accepting applications to its thematic residencies to be held in 2011, including self-directed creative residencies. >>> 8. Master of Experiments on Arts and Politics In partnership with the Centre Pompidou and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, this one-year, part-time master is aimed at young international professionals with 2 to 5 years of practical experience, who will work together on projects concerned with real stakes and trained by renowned specialists. Deadline for the application is the 5 April 2011. >>> 9. PhDArts: Does Research Produce Art? PhDArts offers an international, high-level doctoral programme in visual arts and design. Its goal is to stimulate and facilitate artist-researchers and to provide a suitable environment for research in and through artistic practice. Application deadline is 1 April 2011 or 1 October 2011. >>> 10. Studying Theory at the Zurich Art University Unique in Europe, the courses offered by the Theory major establish an interplay between advanced theory and the free space of the art school. Specific to this major is the focus on artistic practice and popular and everyday culture, as well as the examination of their social and political dimensions. Deadline for applications for the autumn term 2011 is 18 February 2011. >>> 11. Doctorate in Fine Arts The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts admits new students to its Doctoral Studies Programme, based on artistic research where high-quality artistic work intertwines with theoretical research. The application deadline is 28 February 2011. >>> 12. Master of Arts in Fine Art or Design maHKU, the Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design, calls for applications to its one-year Master of Art programmes in visual art or design. Music Biennale Zagreb Marking its 50th anniversary, the 26th Music Biennale Zagreb (MBZ), to be held in Zagreb, Croatia, from 7-17 April 2011, will introduce 35 events at four different venues in the city, as well as in four other cities, presenting the recent music production in a vast variety of musical genres. >>> 15. National Drama International Conference 2011 Through a series of thought-provoking keynotes, a choice of extended workshops and the opportunity to share practice, this major international event, to be held in Swansea, Wales, UK, 11-14 April 2011, celebrates the diversity of drama and asks if there are mutualities of philosophy, process and practice that underpin it. >>> 16. Tandem: Cultural Cooperation Placements Moldova – Ukraine – European Union If you are looking for new partners in Europe or are interested in transnational co-operation with countries outside the European Union, the project Tandem: Cultural Cooperation Placements Moldova – Ukraine – European Union, initiated by the European Cultural Foundation and MitOst, offers cultural institutions from EU member states insight into the cultural scenes of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. Western Balkans Artists Network In the framework of the Euro Balkan Institute, Skopje, Macedonia, and through the Western Balkans Artists Network, the Centre for Visual and Cultural Research is working on creating an Artists Data Base. >>> 19.
