1. International Fund for Cultural Diversity UNESCO has launched the third call for applications for funding from the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD), which aims to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction in developing and least-developed countries. The deadline for applications from National Commissions or INGOs is 30 June 2012. >>> 2. Roberto Cimetta Fund Open Call for Travel Grants The Roberto Cimetta Fund (RCF) supports the mobility of artists and cultural managers who wish to travel in order to develop contemporary artistic cooperation projects in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and in particular throughout the Arab world. 3. CALOUSTE GULBENKIAN PRIZE The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has opened nominations for the Calouste Gulbenkian Prize, worth 250.000 euro, that will distinguish an individual or institution whose thoughts or actions make a decisive contribution to, and have significant impact on understanding, defending or fostering respect for diversity and difference, a culture of tolerance and the conservation of the environment. Nomination deadline is 15 April 2012. >>> 4. 2012 Prize for Excellence in Development Research The European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI) announces the 2012 prize for excellence in development research, which will be awarded for an essay on an issue of development studies in any field of the social sciences submitted and written by a postgraduate student from an EADI member country or attending a programme at an institutional member of the Association. Application deadline is 30 April 2012. >>> 5. 2012 Cultural Policy Research Award The European Cultural Foundation (ECF), the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and the European Network on Cultural Management and Cultural Policy Education (ENCATC), have launched a call for applications for the 2012 Cultural Policy Research Award. The winner of the CPR Award 2012 will be publicly announced on 12 September in London, at the official opening of the ENCATC Jubilee Conference entitled Networked Culture. Postdoctoral Fellowships at the International Institute for Asian Studies Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Fellowships at the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS), Leiden, The Netherlands. The organisers are particularly looking for researchers focusing on the three clusters: Asian Cities, Asian Heritages, and Global Asia. >>> 8. PhD Programme in Visual Art and Design PhDArts, Den Haag, The Netherlands, offers an international, high-level doctorate in art and design. Each doctoral course of study comprises individual research and participation in the doctoral study programme which consists of research and training. Students are awarded the doctoral title. >>> 9. Master's Programme in Cultural Policy The Master's Degree Programme in Cultural Policy of the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, is designed to prepare graduates to take on various leading roles in national and international organizations in the field of cultural policy. The deadline for studies beginning in the fall of 2012 is 3 April 2012. >>> 10. MA - Social Practice and the Creative Environment (SPACE) Limerick School of Art and Design in Ireland invites applicants from an art and design background and related areas for its MA - Social Practice and the Creative Environment (SPACE). This programme is tailored towards the development of a sustainable artistic practice. Application deadline is 1 May 2012. >>> 11. Atelier for Young Festival Managers The European Festivals Association (EFA) and the Ljubljana Festival announce the launch of the open call for application to the fifth edition of the Atelier for Young Festival Managers, to be held from 14-21 October 2012 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Application deadline is 31 May 2012. >>> 12. International Arts Professionals Summer School ENCATC and the University of Kent have officially launched the registration for the second edition of the International Arts Professionals Summer School, taking place in Brussels, on 2 – 6 July 2012. The non-Residential Summer School application deadline is 15 May 2012. >>> 13. Israeli and Jewish Art - Study Tour Israeli and Jewish Art – Study Tour, organised by the Centre of Middle East and Religious Studies, will be held between 23 and 30 July 2012 in Israel. The ART study tour is a new initiative of the Centre of Middle East and Religions Studies, striving to give the participants a multi-cultural view of the region from the perspective of the practising artist. Knowledge Incubation in Innovation and Creation for Science (KiiCS) Project KiiCS is a new pan-European project gathering creative people, scientists and young adults in a process of co-creation for innovation. The project aims to build bridges between arts, science and technology by giving evidence of the positive impacts of their interaction for creativity as well as for triggering interest in science. >>> 16. African Festival Network (AFRIFESTNET) to be launched in Ghana Following a seminar in July 2010 at the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) at which delegates agreed to establish a network of African festivals and events, this network – comprising festivals and events in theatre, music, dance, film, literature, visual arts, heritage as well as multidisciplinary events – will be formally launched in Accra, Ghana, on 19-20 April 2012. >>> |
