Culturelink Team Member Appointed as the Programme Director of IFACCA's 7th World Summit on Arts and Culture Culturelink/IRMO is delighted to announce the appointment of our colleague and member of the Culturelink Team, Nina Obuljen Korzinek as the Programme Director of IFACCA's 7th World Summit on Arts and Culture, to be held in Valletta, Malta, on 18 - 21 October 2016. Since the beginnings of her work at IRMO/Culturelink in 2000, Nina has been an agile researcher of cultural and media policies and cultural diversity related issues. She was particularly active in the preparatory process for the adoption of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005), and she continued to research and monitor its implementation and development. Nina is an active participant in global cultural forums, and she continues to contribute to international discussions on European and international cultural relations and cooperation. We congratulate Nina on this appointment, and we look forward to the outcomes of the next World Summit on Arts and Culture! Final Report of Access to Culture - Policy Analysis Published In the period from May 2013 to April 2015, IRMO's Department for Culture and Communication (the Culturelink Network's focal point) has participated as one of the partners in the research and cooperation project Access to Culture - Policy Analysis, financed by the European Commission's Culture Programme. During the project's two years of activities, six partner institutions - project coordinator EDUCULT (Austria), Foundation Interarts (Spain), the Nordic Centre for Heritage Learning and Creativity AB (Sweden), Telemark Research Institute (Norway), the Cultural Policy and Management Research Centre at Istanbul Bilgi University (KPY, Turkey) and the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) (Croatia) - have, through their research activities, tried to contribute to an understanding of how EU agendas and policies impact Access to Culture policies at national levels, and how future policy settings on the European level can inspire more efficient strategies to foster access to culture. The project's research results Access to Culture - Policy Analysis. Final Report have been published online to enable its dissemination to the wider audience. The project investigated the European and national dimensions of Access to Culture, analyzing and comparing the implementation instruments and mechanisms of the policies on Access to Culture in different countries with the aim of developing policy recommendations for raising awareness about these issues both at the national and at the European level. >>> |

CALL TO ARTISTS AND CURATORS FOR CURATORIAL PROPOSALS The New Art Center's Curatorial Opportunity Program (COP), Newton, USA, is currently accepting proposals for contemporary art exhibitions involving two or more artists and at least one public presentation. 3. OXFORD CULTURAL LEADERS RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME Having access to expertise from across the cultural and business sectors has enabled the Oxford University Museum to develop a programme that is unique within the museum and cultural sectors internationally. The residential programme Oxford Cultural Leaders will run from 10 - 15 April 2016. The deadline for applications is 30 November 2015. >>> 4. ANCER CONFERENCE ON VITALITY AND VIABILITY: ARTS ECOSYSTEMS IN ASIA The Asia Pacific Network for Cultural Education and Research (ANCER) Conference organized by Cambodian Living Arts in partnership with the Institut français du Cambodge, and LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, will take place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 14 - 16 January 2016. The conference is for arts managers, cultural leaders, cultural researchers and policymakers. The deadline for application is 30 November 2015. >>> 5. CEC ARTSLINK INDEPENDENT PROJECTS AWARDS ArtsLink Independent Projects awards provide funding to artists and arts managers who propose to undertake projects in the United States in collaboration with a US non-profit arts organization or individual artist. TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS' CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: MFA IN GLOBAL ART PRACTICE 2016/2017 The Tokyo University of the Arts (TUA) invites applications for entry into the new MFA in Global Art Practice in the Graduate School of Fine Arts for the academic year 1 April 2016 - 31 March 2017. EUROPEAN DIPLOMA IN CULTURAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT 2016/2017 The European Diploma in Cultural Project Management 2016/2017 is the 26th edition of this pan-European training programme for project-oriented European cultural managers organized by the Foundation Marcel Hicter and supported by the Council of Europe. HARTFORD ART SCHOOL INTERDISCIPLINARY MFA FOR SUSTAINABLE CULTURE The Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT, USA announces the new Interdisciplinary Master of Fine Arts for Sustainable Culture, featuring the Nomad9 residencies. MARK CLASTER MAMOLEN DISSERTATION WORKSHOP ON AFRO-LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES The Afro-Latin American Research Institute at the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, Harvard University, invites graduate students around the world working on dissertations related to Afro-Latin American studies to submit a proposal to the annual Mark Claster Mamolen Dissertation Workshop on Afro-Latin American Studies. 12. THE SPARKS PROJECT ON BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN SCIENCE AND SOCIETY The EU-supported Sparks Project: Bridging the Gap Between Science and Society has officially started in October 2015. 13. DIRECTORY OF TOOLS TO IMPLEMENT AND STRENGTHEN CULTURAL POLICIES AND STATISTICS IN ACP COUNTRIES The ACP Cultures+ Programme has inventoried the actions implemented by seven cultural organizations as well as within the framework of ACP/EU cultural cooperation. These activities of technical support and of data collection and dissemination focus primarily on strengthening the regulatory framework and support the implementation of cultural policies in ACP countries (The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States) and/or internationally. >>> 14.
