A NOTE ON ALGORITHMIC CULTURE

Culture is a framework of human life and creativity; it provides a context that enables identification of human beings. This context is presently moulded by new technologies. Ways in which they shape human life and experience raise particular interest in discernible cultural transformations that are at present tightly interwoven with the new technologies wave. The discussion on algorithmic culture reflects such interest and contributes to understanding of new cultural transformations.

We present here an analysis of the term of algorithmic culture by Nada Svob-Djokic, member of the Culturelink team, hoping that it will open new perspectives in the debate on technological and cultural aspects of the ongoing cultural transformations. >>>

2.   INEQUALITIES: BRIDGING THE GAP CONFERENCE 2017

Museums Galleries Scotland invites submissions of papers for presentation to their 2017 conference entitled Inequalities: Bridging the Gap. 3.   ENCATC JOURNAL OF CULTURAL MANAGEMENT AND POLICY

The ENCATC Journal of Cultural Management and Policy is launching a call for articles for the 7th Volume, which will be issued in December 2017. Contributions are welcome from any relevant discipline, provided that they make an original academic contribution to the study of cultural management and policy. 4.   ANATOMY OF CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

The special issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business on Anatomy of Cultural and Creative Entrepreneurship: Past, Present and Future seeks to identify the epistemological development of cultural and creative entrepreneurship over time, with the objective of detecting the paradigmatic shifts in this field, to gain an understanding of its evolution, trajectory changes, present state and possible future developments. 5.   GLOCALISM, JOURNAL OF CULTURE, POLITICS AND INNOVATION

Glocalism, a peer-reviewed, open-access and cross-disciplinary journal, is currently accepting manuscripts for publication. The topic of this issue is global identities and communities. 11.   MA IN CRITICAL AND CURATORIAL STUDIES IN CONTEMPORARY ARTS AT NATIONAL TAIPEI UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION

The National Taipei University of Education, Taiwan, announces the opening of its new MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies in Contemporary Arts, an intensive two-year, taught-in-English programme providing students an opportunity to become familiar with discourses in contemporary art from various vantage points of the globe, especially from the Asia-Pacific region. 12.   EUROPEAN FORUM ON MUSIC 2017

The 7th European Forum on Music will take place in Pafos, Cyprus, the European Capital of Culture, from 9 to 11 June 2017. The Kultura Nova Foundation of Zagreb, Croatia is calling for participation in an online mapping of participatory governance practices in culture within the framework of the project Approaches to Participatory Governance of Cultural Institutions, supported by the UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).
