The Marc de Montalembert Prize 2018 for Mediterranean Research Projects
Call for Applications
In 2010, the Marc de Montalembert Foundation and the French Institut national d'histoire de l'art (INHA) established the Marc de Montalembert Prize to promote a better understanding of the arts and cultures of the Mediterranean world. In its quest to further intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean region, the Marc de Montalembert Prize is awarded each year to an art history research scholar of the Mediterranean region to support a research project whose results contribute to the knowledge of the arts and humanities of the Mediterranean world. The grant of 9.000 euros is awarded for a period of one year. The grant holder will spend a month in Paris as a visiting scholar of the Institut national d'histoire de l'art, and will, upon completion of the project, use a second stay in Paris to publicly present the results of his/her work. The Marc de Montalembert Foundation also offers the grant holder the opportunity to reside at the Foundation's base in Rhodes, Greece. The result of his/her work will be published in an appropriate form with the help of the INHA.
Applications include: a curriculum vitae, the project written in French or English, a link of the project with one of the Institute's specific programmes of study, a work schedule and budget estimate, anticipated results, a hand written letter of intent in French (or English), and at least two letters of recommendation.
The application deadline is 30 November 2017, either directly online via the INHA's website or through postal mail. The prize winner will be announced in the second half of January 2018.
