PhD Programme in Human Geography at the Stockholm University
Stockholm University, Sweden, announces a PhD programme in Human Geography. The PhD student shall work within the EU Horizon 2020 funded project CICERONE (Creative Industries Cultural Economy Production Network) and will be based at the Department of Human Geography, which has around 50 staff who conduct research and teaching across a range of topics within human geography, geography and planning. This thematic PhD project will research particular aspects of global production networks and creative and cultural industries in Europe with a focus on the music sector and the archive sector (including libraries and cultural heritage), and study how the value creating chains in these networks are linked to place and policy on various levels of scale, from the local to the European level. The PhD project can thus be broadly placed in the emerging field of the geographies of the cultural economy.
The PhD student will work on his/her doctoral thesis and fulfil an important role in the project as a whole. The successful applicant will work closely with leading researchers based at Stockholm University as well as with members of the 9-nation CICERONE project.
Application deadline is 15 January 2019.
