Practices in the arts have changed radically over the past two decades, as have the social and economic contexts in which the arts are produced. This book, published in the series Innovations in Art and Design, asks how arts education - particularly in visual art - has changed to meet new needs or shape new futures for its production and reception.
The first section of this reader introduces broad contextual frameworks, while the second section examines new directions in practice, and the third one gives cases from and insights into a changing pedagogy.
